Programs & Classes
The Bainbridge Island Metro Park and Recreation District offers a wide variety of classes and programs for adults and children of all ages. A complete listing of everything we offer is published three times a year in our brochure which is mailed out to all households on the Island. This same information is available on the link below as downloadable pdf files. Registration for Spring and Summer classes begins March 23. Watch for the 'early bird' icon - registration for these classes begins March 10!

MORE HIKES!
July 3 - Duckabush to Big Hump:
7 miles round trip. We’ll hike the first section of a key backpacking trail along Duckabush River, one of the major rivers draining the east side of the Olympics. This trail is in good condition, and passes through rich forest ending with a .5 mile climb to top of Big Hump, where we’ll have a nice view out towards the sound. Activity #411925 Sec# 01, $32
July 17 - Mt Zion:
3.6 miles round trip. The hike is short and steep—we’ll take our time! There are a few wild rhododendrons growing along the trail, and lots of great views from the top. This is one of the shortest hikes possible for such a view. Activity # 411926 Sec #01, $32
DIGITAL PHOTO BASICS. This 4-week class will start with the basics of digital photography, de-mystify terminology, and progress to more selective shooting situations and tips for increased creativity. Bring camera and manual to first class and expect to create 36 images during the first two weeks to be evaluated during last two weeks. Taught by Emily Grice. Class meets for 2 hours. ++SHC ART room

CALL TO THE WILD YOGA CAMP
for ages 7-10. Take a walk on the wild side and exercise your independence through yoga. Roar like lions, and fly like fish! Adventures, games and crafts. Every wild yogi makes their own art book filled with pictures, stories and photos recording their week at camp. Please wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely. Mats included and organic snacks provided. Camp led by Kristy Tonti, your fun yoga teacher, also a Certified Personal Trainer, Certified in Youth Fitness, Painter and Art Instructor. PNW NATIVE PLANT IDENTIFICATION New
Enjoy an afternoon workshop with Al Philips at the Puget Sound Native Tree Garden identifying trees and over 40 bushes and small plants that are native to Bainbridge Island. Participants must be able to navigate stairs and trails. No pets or children. Young adults (12 and up) capable of staying on the path and listening to the subject matter are welcome. THE HISTORY OF THE PNW ART GLASS MOVEMENT New
Come to the Dolphin Place Glass Studio where Al Philips will discuss the mechanics of glass blowing and creation of colored glass and the history of Italian Glass Art. Examples of work by Dale Chihuly, Dante Marioni and others will be presented. Ages 12 and up welcome.
