Sakai Park

A 22-acre regional park located near downtown Winslow. The park features walking and fitness trails, a pond overlook, tennis courts, and a unique public art installation.
Sakai Park was purchased in 2015 with bonds after a successful all-island election vote.
The property is topographically distinct. There are approximately 9-acres of upland property that is relatively flat. Below and to the east, a pond, stream and wetland complex provides a tranquil setting and opportunities for wildlife viewing.
The park site is named in honor of the Sakai family who cultivated berries on this site as well as nearby properties prior to and after their family’s WWII internment.
