We offer a variety of fitness opportunities for all age levels and all fitness levels to enjoy. We have both ongoing fitness classes and drop-in classes that you can join at any time. Looking to exercise outdoors? Be sure to use our many parks and trails for hiking, walking, running and biking.
RUNNING AND CROSS COUNTRY
Our various running and cross country programs are led by Jim Whiting and Anne Howard Lindquist. Jim (Shape up for Spring Sports, Bainbridge Blazers Cross Country, Running Fun in the Sun Camp and Summer Cross Country Camp) is the originator and former administrator of the popular Summer All-Comers Track Meets, now in their 21th season. Jim has been a runner since high school. He is a prolific author of nonfiction books for young people, with more than 120 titles currently in print. Before turning to books, he combined his love of running and writing by publishing Northwest Runner magazine for 17 years. Anne (Go Run for Girls) is a long time runner and the current Bainbridge High School Cross Country coach.
Go Run for Girls: Spring Season: April to May, Fall Season: November to February
Shape up for Spring Sports: January to March
Running Fun in the Sun, Summer Cross Country: June to August
Bainbridge Blazers Cross Country Club: August to October
Tawyna Jackson, Bainbridge High School Cheerleading coach, runs our fall Junior Cheer program. Participants will learn several cheer routines and then put what they learned to a test by cheering at a few Junior Football games.
