Aquatics Facility Manager

Location/Division: Recreation – Aquatics Center
Status: Full Time – Exempt

Job Summary: The District is seeking an Aquatic Center Manager to develop, promote and coordinate a broad spectrum of aquatic recreation programs and to oversee a 30,000 sq. ft. community aquatic center/indoor water park. The Aquatic Center Manager will be responsible for the overall facility operation and programming. For more information see a full job description below.

Salary: 12 step salary scale. $57,084 to $79,018 per year DOE.

Gymnastics Weekend Instructors

Location/Division: Gymnastics
Status: Part Time – nonexempt

Hours: will vary but will typically be 2 to 4 hours per day, Friday evenings, Saturday morning-early evening, Sunday midday-evening.

Job Summary: The Gymnastics Department is looking for fun and energetic people 18 and up for weekend programming. We run birthday parties for kids ages 1-14, Open Playtime for ages 6 months-5 years old and Open Gyms for ages 6 and up. Experience in gymnastics is a plus, but not necessary as we will train candidates who have the right personality and ability to have fun.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the gym during Open Gym and/or Open Playtime
  • Perform housekeeping tasks and put away equipment
  • Run birthday parties – instruct participants on gymnastics

Qualifications: 

  • CPR/first aid (will train if not current)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Compensation: $12.78 to $17.05 D.O.E.

Job Summary: The Gymnastics Department is looking for fun, energetic and upbeat instructors to teach Gymnastics Classes for children from toddlers to teenagers for weekday evenings between 3:30-8:00pm. A background in, or prior experience teaching gymnastics, cheer and/or dance is desired. This is a Part Time position with potential growth, especially for candidates with experience coachingcompetitive level gymnastics.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach gymnastics to beginning through advanced participants
  • Perform housekeeping tasks and put away equipment
  • Fill out progression cards and certificates
  • Communicate with parents
  • Create lesson plans

Qualifications: 

  • CPR/first aid (will train if not current)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Compensation: $12.78 to $16.74 D.O.E.

Job Summary: The District is looking for a person to lead various “Discover Bainbridge” walks. Knowledge of or willingness to learn some of the history of the area is a must. This activity entails a 2 to 4 mile walks at various locations on the island. The leader will be responsible to plan the walk, communicate with participants and must be willing to walk during all types of weather.

Salary: $11.63 to $12.78 D.O.E.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the safety of the Aquatic Center patrons
  • Assist swimmers having difficulty

  • Current American Red Cross Waterpark Lifeguard Certification
  • Current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification

Paid staff training and orientation, free use of the Aquatic Center, and 50% employee discounts on many District classes. 6 step pay scale starts at $11.63/hour. Starting pay will be based on experience and qualifications.

AQUA FIT INSTRUCTORS

Join our highly trained and dedicated team of instructors at Bainbridge Island Aquatic Center. We offer a variety of classes ranging from river fitness, deep water and strength/flexibility classes.

Qualifications: AEA Certification or comparable, CPR/AED certified, 18 years old, excellent customer service skills, embody an enthusiastic and energetic attitude, team oriented.

Compensation: Paid staff training and orientation, free use of the Aquatic Center, and 50% employee discounts on many District classes.  6 step pay scale starts at $15.18/hour.  Pay determined depending on experience and qualifications.
