Teen Center Supervisor

JOB DUTIES:

  • Supervises participants during teen open visitation times and teen sponsored events.
  • Assists in program development, coordination, planning, record-keeping, and reports.
  • Prepares and plans for daily activities or programs
  • May teach, officiate or lead activities or programs including driving for teen trips
  • Helps recruit, schedule and supervise the work of volunteers and contract personnel.
  • Inspects program equipment and facilities for safety hazards and recommends corrective action.
  • Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the Teen area, involving teens to keep the areas clean and inviting.

JOB DUTIES: Sailing Instructors are responsible for the education, safety, and group management of four to fourteen participants on and off water during programs. They are accountable for planning each day’s sailing lessons, assessing potential risks, instructing, supervising assistant instructors, addressing and documenting maintenance and medical concerns, as well as serving as a role model. This position requires sailing experience, safe decision making skills, and ability to bond a group of kids or adults together during a week-long program.

Recreation Assistant Instructor – Sailing

JOB DUTIES: The Recreation Assistant is responsible for participant and fleet safety, efficient management of sailors, lesson planning, sailing class instruction, and careful maintenance of boats and equipment. Ideally, assistant instructors will have experience sailing Optis and/or FJs, safe decision making skills, basic boat care knowledge, and the ability to make sailing fun for groups of kids and adults. Qualified Assistant Sailing Instructors with a proven track record are often afforded opportunities to lead classes under the guidance of a Sailing Instructor or the Sailing Camp Director.

Camp Director
A Camp Director is responsible for designing and implementing camp activities and instructions, managing a group of six to twenty four youth participants and up to six employee’s. The Director must assess and mitigate potential hazards and oversee camper safety. Additionally, Camp Directors market their camps and communicate with the public, camp family’s and campers. Experience leading a variety of recreation activities, group facilitation and working with children strongly preferred.

Compensation and benefits: 6 step pay scale starts at $15.48/hour.  Pay determined depending on experience and qualifications

Recreation Aide
A Recreation Aide is responsible for helping with camp activities, assisting with a group of six to twenty-four youth participants, and overseeing camper safety. Recreation Aides also provide individual assistance to campers as needed. Experience with a variety of recreation activities, and working with children is preferred.

Compensation and benefits: 6 step pay scale starts at $11.00/hour.  Pay determined depending on experience and qualifications.

Camp Counselor
A Camp Counselor is responsible for leading camp activities and instruction, managing a group of six to twenty-four youth participants, and overseeing camper safety. Experience leading a variety of recreation activities, group facilitation, and working with children is preferred.

Compensation and benefits: 6 step pay scale starts at $11.86/hour.  Pay determined depending on experience and qualifications.

All positions are eligible for paid staff training and orientation, free Pool Pass at the Bainbridge Island Aquatic Center and 50% discount on District classes during the summer quarter.

Must be able to work independently while following established safety and maintenance protocol.

Gymnastics Weekend Instructors

Location/Division: Gymnastics

Job Summary: The Gymnastics Department is looking for fun and energetic people 18 and up for weekend programming. We run birthday parties for kids ages 1-14, Open Playtime for ages 6 months-5 years old and Open Gyms for ages 6 and up. Experience in gymnastics is a plus, but not necessary as we will train candidates who have the right personality and ability to have fun.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the gym during Open Gym and/or Open Playtime
  • Perform housekeeping tasks and put away equipment

Join our highly trained and dedicated team of instructors at Bainbridge Island Aquatic Center. We offer a variety of classes ranging from river fitness, deep water and strength/flexibility classes.

Qualifications: AEA Certification or comparable, CPR/AED certified, 18 years old, excellent customer service skills, embody an enthusiastic and energetic attitude, team oriented.

Lifeguards
