Senior Park Aide

Hours: Mostly weekdays but some weekends and evenings – 30 to 40 hours per week

JOB DUTIES: Duties may include: Mow and maintain lawn area; maintain athletic fields; assist with construction projects; clean park grounds; assist with planting and care of trees, shrubs, flowers, and turf areas and other duties as assigned.
Wage: $13.50 + per hour depending on qualifications.

Swim Coach 1 — Diving

Supervisor: Aquatic Program Administrator
Position Status: Part Time-non exempt
Hours: Weekdays, weekends, early morning and evening shifts as needed

Current club water workouts T/Th 5:30-7:30p and Saturdays 8:00-10:00a with additional dry land training as needed

Duties: Ability to plan and execute training practices for both the 1 and 3-meter spring board and dry land conditioning program. Possess a high level of competency in sport skill instruction, motivation and conduct practice sessions with safety as the cornerstone. Teach and prepare athletes training the fundamentals with the element of fun and safety at the forefront. Ability to break down skills and rebuild for the new to seasoned diver. Demonstrates strong communication skills with athletes, parents, management and fellow staff members in all mediums.  Maintain all required certifications as required by USA Diving and Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park & Recreation District. Responsible for maintaining club in compliance with USA Diving, Safe Sport and Park District compliance in all aspects.

Desired Qualifications: USA Diving Coach, USOC Safe Sport, Concussion Awareness Training, American Red Cross Lifeguard (preferred), American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (preferred)

Wage: DOE

Lifeguards

Responsibilities:
• Monitor the safety of the Aquatic Center patrons
• Assist swimmers having difficulty
• Perform housekeeping task and pool chemistry maintenance

• Must be 15 years of age
• Current American Red Cross Waterpark Lifeguard Certification
• Current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification

Compensation: Paid staff training and orientation, free use of the Aquatic Center, and 50% employee discounts on many Park District classes. 6 step pay scale starts at $12.82/hour. Starting pay will be based on experience and qualifications.

Mountain Biking Program Leader

Reports to: Mountain Biking Program Coordinator, Outdoor Adventure Program Manager
Position Status: Part-time, Seasonal, Non PERS eligible

Job Summary: The Mountain Biking Program Leader is responsible for the safety and group management of four to thirteen participants while out in the field, instructing mountain biking technical skills, rider safety, trail etiquette, pre-trip communication, coordinating trip logistics, utilizing LNT and other environmental friendly practices, cooperating with other staff, proactive risk management, and overseeing medical concerns. This position requires extensive experience mountain biking, teaching groups, and operating in remote backcountry settings.

Compensation: Paid staff training, free use of the Aquatic Center, employee discount on many District classes, and sick leave per WA state law. Starting wage $15.51/hour to $17.10/hour DOE. Hours are dependent upon programs meeting minimum enrollment.

Aqua Fit Instructors

Join our highly trained and dedicated team of instructors at Bainbridge Island Aquatic Center. We offer a variety of classes ranging from river fitness, deep water and strength/flexibility classes.

Qualifications: AEA Certification or comparable, CPR/AED certified, 18 years old, excellent customer service skills, embody an enthusiastic and energetic attitude, team oriented.

Compensation: Paid staff training and orientation, free use of the Bainbridge Island Aquatic Center, and 50% employee discounts on many District classes.  6 step pay scale starts at $15.48/hour.  Pay determined depending on experience and qualifications.
