Full-Time/Regular Part-Time Positions

In-House Maintenance Tech - Custodial

Posting date: 4/6/21

Position status: Full time – Non-exempt

Responsibilities: The Maintenance Tech works as an entry level maintenance person and will perform cleaning and minor maintenance at the Aquatic Center Facility. Must be able to work unsupervised and understand all safety and health regulations relating to public pools. This person will also assist the Maintenance Manager on major projects at the facility.

Qualifications: Equivalent to two years experience in horticulture, buildings and grounds maintenance, or related field. Requires high school diploma with trades classes, or equivalent experience and training supplemented with continuing education workshops. Requires valid WA State driver’s license or equivalent.

Compensation:

  • $4040.00 DOE, per month on a 12-step salary schedule
  • Fully paid health, vision, and dental insurance for employee

Head Lifeguard

Position status: Part time – Regular Non-exempt
Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week. Flexible schedule as we continue to open during COVID-19 – typical schedule before COVID-19 was Friday-Sunday with some additional hours throughout the week, including evenings and some afternoons.

Responsibilities:
The Head Lifeguard functions as the day-to-day shift manager with responsibility for customer services, pool safety, events, shift duties, supervision, evaluations, drills, training, operations, trouble shooting, first aid, emergency services, problem solving, reports, and other functions.

Qualifications:
American Red Cross Lifeguard, American Red Cross Waterpark, 18 years old, excellent customer service skills, embody an enthusiastic, energetic attitude, team-oriented. Applicants should be willing to learn and contribute to the team and Park District.

Part-Time/Seasonal Positions

Maintenance Technician

Posting date: 4/19/21

Position status: Part time – Non-exempt
Hours: 19-29 hours per weel. Must be available nights and some weekends.

Responsibilities: The Park Maintenance Tech works as an entry level maintenance person at Park Services or the Aquatic Center. This position will be involved with building and maintaining facilities and equipment, trails, horticulture, arboriculture, equipment operations, park construction, and basic park grounds facility maintenance. This position may also perform other task such as welding, basic construction, and electrical tasks.

Qualifications:

• Equivalent to two years experience in horticulture, buildings and grounds maintenance, or related field.
• Requires high school diploma with trades classes, or equivalent experience and training supplemented with continuing education workshops.
• Requires valid WA State driver’s license or equivalent.

Salary: $23.35 D.O.E.

Park Aide

Hours: 40 hours per week. Must be available to work some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities: Mows and maintains lawn area; maintains athletic fields; assists with construction projects; installs recreation equipment and play equipment, cleans park grounds; performs work relating to planting and care of trees, shrubs, flowers, and turf areas, assists with the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems; operates and maintains trucks, tractors, sprayers, chain saws and other power tools and various hand tools; other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Ability to operate equipment in a responsible and safe manner; basic understanding of horticultural practices; aptitude for grounds work; ability to work harmoniously in a group; ability to deal with the public in a positive and courteous manner; ability to be punctual and reliable in work habits; ability to accept supervision and communicate with supervisors; ability to learn new skills; must be self-starting; and be able to use time efficiently and effectively.

Compensation: Salary: $15.00 per hour-D.O.E. 40 hours per week and must be available to work some evenings and weekends.

Mountain Biking Program Leader

Position Status: Part-time, Seasonal, Non PERS eligible

Job Summary: The Mountain Biking Program Leader is responsible for the safety and group management of four to thirteen participants while out in the field, instructing mountain biking technical skills, rider safety, trail etiquette, pre-trip
communication, coordinating trip logistics, utilizing LNT and other environmental friendly practices, cooperating with other staff, proactive risk management, and overseeing medical concerns. This position requires extensive experience mountain biking, teaching groups, and operating in remote backcountry settings.

Compensation: Paid staff training, free use of the Aquatic Center, employee discount on many District classes, and sick leave per WA state law. Starting wage $16.00/hour to $17.48/hour DOE. Hours are dependent upon programs meeting
minimum enrollment.
