Head Lifeguard – Aquatic Center

Division: Recreation –Aquatic
Position Status: Part Time – nonexempt
Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week.  Weekends and some weekdays; including early mornings and late evenings
Supervisor: Aquatic Program Administrator

Duties: The Head Lifeguard functions as the day-to-day shift manager with responsibility for customer services, pool safety, events, shift duties, supervision, evaluations, drills, training, operations, trouble shooting, first aid, emergency services, problem solving, reports, and other functions.

Wage: 12 step salary scale starting at $18.26.  Starting wage DOE

Benefits: Participation in the State Retirement Program, health benefits, long term disability and life insurance.  Vacation and Sick leave accrual.  Also, discount on most district classes and free pool pass while employed for employee and dependents.

Senior Park Aides – various positions available in horticulture, maintenance and trail crews

Lifeguards

Hours: Weekdays, weekends, early morning and evening shifts.

Responsibilities:
• Monitor the safety of the Aquatic Center patrons
• Assist swimmers having difficulty
• Perform housekeeping task and pool chemistry maintenance

• Must be 15 years of age
• Current American Red Cross Waterpark Lifeguard Certification
• Current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification

Compensation: Paid staff training and orientation, free use of the Aquatic Center, and 50% employee discounts on many Park District classes. 6 step pay scale starts at $12.82/hour. Starting pay will be based on experience and qualifications.

Mountain Biking Program Leader

Reports to: Mountain Biking Program Coordinator, Outdoor Adventure Program Manager
Position Status: Part-time, Seasonal, Non PERS eligible

Job Summary: The Mountain Biking Program Leader is responsible for the safety and group management of four to thirteen participants while out in the field, instructing mountain biking technical skills, rider safety, trail etiquette, pre-trip communication, coordinating trip logistics, utilizing LNT and other environmental friendly practices, cooperating with other staff, proactive risk management, and overseeing medical concerns. This position requires extensive experience mountain biking, teaching groups, and operating in remote backcountry settings.

Compensation: Paid staff training, free use of the Aquatic Center, employee discount on many District classes, and sick leave per WA state law. Starting wage $15.51/hour to $17.10/hour DOE. Hours are dependent upon programs meeting minimum enrollment.

Camp Director - All-Day Explorer Camps

Hours: Week days, some weekend hours. Camps run fall/winter/spring and summer.
Supervisor: Recreation Program Manager

Duties: The Camp Director will create lesson plans for camps, direct staff and oversee staff meetings and training, scheduling, daily crafts, pool time, field trips, sports, games, hiking and various All-Day Camp activities for children ages 6 to 11.

Wage: 7 step salary scale starting at $16.74 + per hour.  Starting wage DOE

Aqua Fit Instructors

Join our highly trained and dedicated team of instructors at Bainbridge Island Aquatic Center. We offer a variety of classes ranging from river fitness, deep water and strength/flexibility classes.

Qualifications: AEA Certification or comparable, CPR/AED certified, 18 years old, excellent customer service skills, embody an enthusiastic and energetic attitude, team oriented.

Compensation: Paid staff training and orientation, free use of the Bainbridge Island Aquatic Center, and 50% employee discounts on many District classes.  6 step pay scale starts at $15.48/hour.  Pay determined depending on experience and qualifications.
