Watercolor, pastels, oil painting, drawing, collage, art studio sampler classes, and more are taught by talented local artists at Strawberry Hill Center.
“… I love the Park District classes because I get to see what others are painting, and I can share my years of painting with other students. I learn new things each time I begin a new painting or see what other painters have done. It keeps me young.”
Oils and Acrylics with Sylvia Carlton
Sylvia has taught painting and abstract art at Strawberry Hill Center for over 12 years. She welcomes students of all levels with great encouragement and enthusiasm for having fun with color and composition. Sylvia studied with Eileen Nelson, Susan Sarback, Lois Griffel, Guido Frick, and other artists who represent the two main schools of impressionism in the United States taught under Henry Hensche and Sergei Bongart.
Watercolors with John Adams
“I encourage my students to learn the fundamentals of watercolor painting and design in a positive, creative environment where all levels of experience are welcome.” John welcomes students of all levels in his evening and daytime classes. He also teaches drawing and holds some summer classes outside in the parks. View his website here.
