Ray Williamson Pool Reopens After Phase 1 Renovations
We are excited to announce that the Ray Williamson Pool has reopened! Following months of careful planning, input from architects and regulatory partners, and the successful completion of Phase 1 construction, the pool is once again welcoming swimmers.
This phased approach to rehabilitation allows us to reduce overall costs, continue supporting high school swim programs, and minimize disruption for the community. While we’re thrilled to provide access again, please note that the pool has an “in-progress” look as work continues behind the scenes. Phase 2 of construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2026.
Project Highlights
Phase 1, which began in fall 2024, focused on essential upgrades to extend the pool’s lifespan by at least 20 years. Improvements included:
-
Complete renovation of plumbing systems
-
Installation of new HVAC and air handling units
-
Roofing and fire safety enhancements
-
Electrical and lighting upgrades
-
Addition of a new lobby and storefront windows
-
Transformation of former locker rooms into staff spaces and mechanical rooms
These upgrades ensure that the facility operates more efficiently and safely while we prepare for larger pool-area renovations in Phase 2.
Looking Ahead
Phase 2 will focus on structural renovations, plumbing replacements, and enhanced storage and security features to further modernize the facility.
