Battle Point Park is situated on land that was once home to a critical U.S. Navy radio transmitting station. In April 1941, the Navy acquired approximately 90 acres here and constructed an 800‑ft‑tall tower—at the time the largest radio transmitter on the West Coast—for top-secret wartime communications. Even today, two WWII‑era stone pillars and fencing flank the park’s entrance, a subtle nod to its military past. More history is available on-site through interpretive panels, which can be viewed here.

In addition to its historical significance, Battle Point Park has become a vibrant community hub. It features a large observatory and sundial, a disc golf course, equestrian trails, sports fields, and playgrounds. The two-mile interior trail loop and a 1.5-mile perimeter horse trail make it a favorite for walkers, families, and athletes alike.

Nestled in the heart of Bainbridge Island, Battle Point Park offers more than 90 acres of lush open space, sports fields, trails, and memorable views, making it the perfect setting for your next event. Our picnic shelter is available for family reunions, corporate gatherings, birthday parties, and community meet‑ups.
