As we head into spring, I’m reminded how fortunate we are to live in a community that values recreation, the arts, environmental stewardship, and long-range planning. This season reflects that shared commitment in meaningful ways.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you March 6–8 to the Second Annual Battle of the Paddle at the Bainbridge Island Recreation Center. Events like this showcase the energy and connection that make our recreation programs so special.

An early heads up that the Bainbridge Island Aquatic Center will be closed March 7-8 for scheduled maintenance and painting. These temporary closures allow us to care for the facilities our community depends on, and we appreciate your understanding.

March also brings opportunities to gather and be inspired. Enjoy an intimate evening of music at Island Center Hall during our Sounds of Winter series, and join neighbors at IslandWood for the Bainbridge Island Environmental Conference as we explore how to prepare for sea level rise and strengthen our Island’s resilience.

Behind the scenes, we are equally focused on the future. The draft Comprehensive Plan is now available for public review and comment. This important document will guide investments in parks, trails, facilities, and programs for years to come. I encourage you to share your feedback at the Board Meeting on the anticipated adoption date of February 19, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Strawberry Hill Center.

Thank you for your continued partnership in shaping a strong, vibrant Park District. I look forward to seeing you out in our parks and programs.
