Accessible Equipment Rentals
Hippocampe Wheelchair
The Hippocampe Beach and All-terrain wheelchair accompanies you through your outdoor activities. Enjoy hikes in the mountains or through forests, get your feet wet, or stroll along sandy beaches; you can even trek through snow-covered terrain.
Wherever your outdoor passions take you, the Hippocampe chair will make adventures in nature more accessible.
The Hippocampe chair rentals are free for Kitsap County residents, courtesy of the Kitsap County Accessible Communities Advisory Committee.
Grit Freedom Chair 3.0
Go to more places with the Grit Freedom chair. Independently travel in the woods, over rocks, and uphill! Arm levers allow for increased propulsion. Rear tires are easily removable to fit in a trunk or rear cargo area.
The Grit Freedom Chair 3.0 chair rentals are free for Kitsap County residents.
For rental information, contact Cody Ogren at codyogren@biparks.org.

Inclusion/Accessibility Services
The Park District remains committed to providing inclusive recreational opportunities and supporting members of our community with special needs. We request at least two weeks’ notice before the first activity meeting to determine whether reasonable accommodation is possible. Although the District will make every reasonable effort to meet your needs, only some accommodation requests can be granted.
