Transmitter Building

The Transmitter Building is located at 11299 Arrow Point Drive NE, in Battle Point Park.

This restored facility is over 3,100 square feet and accommodates gymnastics classes, open play time and other recreational programs.

For information on facility hours, programs, Open Playtime, Open Gym, and rental opportunities (Birthday Parties, Custom Classes, and Private Lessons),  please visit our Gymnastics page.

This facility is a historic World War II building, whose purpose during WWII was to facilitate the transmission of messages from the Pacific Fleet. The restoration process has been sensitive to the important design elements and materials from the era into the building’s rebirth.

The renovation project was a partnership of the Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District and community volunteers, and was funded by community donations, in-kind donations, grants, and local philanthropic contributions.

We are very grateful to the architect of the project and committee member Dana Webber, who volunteered all of her time to this project, and to the building committee: Bernadette Stephen-McCrae, Amy Curren, Cindy Rees, Jean Welch, Bryan Garoutte, Norton Schimke, and Lorry Gilbreath.
