Blakely Harbor Park Beach Access Picnic Trails

This 40-acre park is on the former site of Port Blakely Mill, one of the world's largest sawmills in the late 1800's. This park will be developed for passive recreational use such as picnicking, kayaking, and wildlife viewing.

Gazzam Lake Nature Preserve Lake Trails

Gazzam Lake Park and Wildlife Preserve includes 444.6 acres of highly valued upland forests and wetlands in the southwest quadrant of Bainbridge Island.

The Hawley Cove Trail is a 0.25 mile trail within Hawley Cove Park that travels through upland forest and wetlands before ending at the shore of the Puget Sound. Trail users can expect to find spectacular views of Mt. Rainier and Seattle as well as enjoy the beach at low tide and watch the ferries come and go from Eagle Harbor.

The park totals 90.3 acres, is a former naval radio station, and is largely open space with two ponds, jogging trail, two soccer fields, three softball fields, horse area, a picnic shelter, two tennis courts, play areas, two basketball courts shared with a roller hockey court, a large children's play structure, garden plots, and the Park District maintenance shop and offices.

Historic former Mosquito fleet and 100-ft long ferry dock; this .3-acre park is now an ideal spot for fishing and scuba diving.

Close Trail Beach Access Biking Trails

NE Marshall Road | Bainbridge Island, Wa, 98110

The Close Trail can be accessed from the Gazzam Lake Trail approximately 0.1 miles from the NE Marshall Road trailhead. From the intersection, the trail travels 0.7 miles through dense forest while descending to the shore of Puget Sound.

Camp Yeomalt Rental Facility

Camp Yeomalt is located on Park Avenue just east of the Yeomalt Point road.The park totals 2.8 acres and was acquired by the Park District in 1987 from the Boy Scouts of America.

Pritchard Park Beach Access

Gideon Park Picnic Playground

The park contains swings and rockers for young children, a bird and butterfly garden, and a log cabin, which is currently used as a caretaker's residence. The site is used primarily as a neighborhood park.

The Grand Forest West Trail System is the most popular trail system on Bainbridge Island and consists 2.95 miles of forested trails meandering along hillsides, wetlands, and streams. Portions of this trail serve as part of the Cross Island Trail.

The Grand Forest is a popular destination for trail users on Bainbridge Island. It has a canopy of lush firs, cedars and maples and a few giant conifers. Trails are relatively flat with few inclines and a trail surface of dirt, mulch and gravel. There is no wheelchair accessibility, currently.

Schel Chelb Park Beach Access Playground Trails

This 1.64 acre park features 370 linear feet of saltwater shoreline, swimming beach, open grass area, and trail linking to Gazzam trail network.

Blakely Harbor Park Trail Biking Horses Trails

The 1 mile trail is relatively flat and winds around the harbor inside the 40-acre Blakely Harbor Park. The park sits atop land that formerly housed the Port Blakely Mill, one of the world’s largest sawmills in the late 1800’s.

Hawley Cove Park Beach Access Trails

This 11.7 acre conservancy park contains upland forest, a large wetland, and 609 linear feet of saltwater shoreline on Eable Harbor. The park has a 400 foot boardwalk and .25 mile walking trail from Wing Point Way to the shoreline on Eagle Harbor.

The Hidden Cove Trail is a 2-mile long trail that meanders through forests and wetlands providing connections from Hidden Cove Park and the Hidden Cove Ballfields to nearby neighborhoods.

Fay Bainbridge Park is a 17-acre marine camping park with 1,420 feet of saltwater shoreline on the northeast corner of Bainbridge Island. The park offers sweeping views of Puget Sound, the Cascade Mountains and features sandy beaches. On clear days, Mount Rainier and Mount Baker are visible from a sandy beach.

The Fort Ward-to-Blakely Harbor Trail creates an important link between the two largest parks on the southern end of Bainbridge Island, Fort Ward Park and Blakely Harbor Park. The trail provides a pleasant meandering walk through a thick forest of Douglas Fir and Big Leaf Maple trees and wetland areas.

Ted Olson Nature Reserve Biking Horses Trails

The Ted Olson Trail System consist of three trails totaling 0.6 miles within the Ted Olson Nature Preserve.

Gazzam Lake Trail System Biking Horses Trails

The Gazzam Lake Trail System consists of 2 miles of gently rolling trail through dense forest. The backbone of the system is the Gazzam Lake Trail (1.4 miles) that connects the two trailheads. A small loop trail spurs off the main trail that adds an additional 0.6 miles. The trails run adjacent to Gazzam Lake, a 13 acre freshwater wetland that has remained untouched by development.

Hidden Cove Ballfields Baseball Field Soccer Field Trails

The Bainbridge Island Park District took ownership of Hidden Cove Ballfields in 1997. The park consists of 9.5 acres and currently includes two Little League ballfields and a soccer practice area. Two miles of trail connect to open space and provide water access at Hidden Cove Park.

Meigs Park Trails

11085 State Highway 305 | Bainbridge Island, Wa, 98110

A walking path extends along the upper area of the park, but public access is limited due to the delicate nature of the bog. Future plans call for a boardwalk and an interpretive viewing area to expand public access.

11299 Arrow Point Dr NE | Bainbridge Island, Wa, 98110

The Ferry Dell Trail begins on the north side of NE Frey Avenue, across the street from the trailhead parking lot. It follows a seasonal stream to the Puget Sound shoreline. Along the way, the trail winds through some of the oldest trees on the island including several old growth cedars and Douglas firs. This trail is one end of the Cross Island Trail.

Peters Trail Trails

Deerpath Lane NE | Bainbridge Island, Wa, 98110

From the trailhead, the trail descends steeply through a forested hillside ending at Listening Ln. From Listening Ln hikers can travel south to Baker Hill Road where a connection to the Schel Chelb Trail is possible. The Schel Chelb Trail travels from Baker Hill Road to Point White Drive NE near Lynwood Center, ending at a public beach.

This 6.1-acre park has a beautiful water view and shore access with 100 foot long dock. There are 2 picnic tables, a .25 mile trail and access to 2 mile multipurpose trail network.

Rotary Park is a 9.6-acre park on the east side of Weaver Road between High School Road and Wyatt Way. These ballfields are under renovation.

Battle Point Park Trail Biking Horses Trails

The Battle Point Trail System consists of 2 miles of flat, winding trail that loops around the interior of the park as well as 1.5 miles of equestrian trail that circles the park perimeter.

John Nelson Trail Trails

This .8 acre linear park is nestled along the Winslow Ravine. A .3 mile loop trail with spectacular views of the ravine is walking distance from the Ferry terminal and downtown Winslow.

Rotary Centennial Park

This gateway park with parking, orientation, and welcoming signage is located adjacent to SR-305 at the north end of the island near Bloedel Reverve. This park was jointly created by the Bainbridge Island Rotary Club and WSDOT to commemorate the Club's centennial.

Sands Avenue Ballfield Baseball Field Picnic Soccer Field

The park includes a picnic table, grass 300-foot baseball and grass soccer field with spectator stands, concession shack, portable toilet, and 400 square foot storage shed.

West Port Madison Biking Horses Trails

The West Port Madison Trail provides an intimate experience along a narrow, winding trail that ends on a cliff side bluff overlooking the Puget Sound. Along the way are two walk-in only picnic shelters.

Seabold Park Rental Facility

This 3-acre park includes Seabold Hall, which holds 80 people and has an all wooden interior with a separate kitchen.

West Port Madison Nature Preserve Picnic Trails

This 13 acre preserve is located in a residential area and has two picnic areas with shelters and barbecue pits, nature trails and views of Puget Sound. The park is home to diverse floura and fauna, and is a great place for bird watching.

Waypoint Park

The park provides a public site for what has occurred in the road way and sidewalks at this location for generations. It is a place of homecoming and departing for local residents as they walk to and from the ferry, and a place to physically orient oneself for the visitor.

Forest to Sky Trail Biking Boardwalk Horses Trails

The Forest-to-Sky Trail connects the District's most popular trail system, the Grand Forest West Trail System, to one of its most popular parks, Battle Point Park. The trail provides a serene walk through forestland featuring a 100 foot boardwalk through a wetland area.

Red Pine Park Garden Picnic

Conveyed to Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park District in 2014 by Sue Cooley and Red Pine Park LLC this is a half acre pocket park located in Winslow at the corner of Wood Ave SW and Parfitt Way SW. Red Pine Park contains an orchard and berry patches, open lawn with seating and picnic area.

Ted Olson Nature Reserve Trails

Ted Olson Nature Preserve is located on the east side of Madison Ave North between Valley and Winters Roads. The initial 10-acres were donated to the Bainbridge Island Park District in 1973 by Theodore Olson, whose family had owned the property since the turn of the century.

Eagledale Park Dog Park Picnic Tennis Court

The park totals 6.7 acres, is a former Nike missle site, and has a pottery studio and pottery workshop, a tennis court, brand new play structure, covered picnic area, a sports court, and a sand volleyball court.

T'Chookwap Park

T'Chookwap Park is a small neighborhood park overlooking Port Madison. It features .32 acres of upland waterfront and tidelands, view shed, and bench.

Hilltop Biking Horses Trails

Miller Road NE | Bainbridge Island, Wa, 98110

The Hilltop Trail is a connector trail between the Grand Forest West and Grand Forest East Trail Systems. You will encounter a short steep section of trail as you approach the Hilltop Meadow, near the center of the Hilltop Trail when heading East from the Grand Forest West. On a clear day there are spectacular views of the Olympic Mountains. The acquisition of this trail created the Cross Island Trail.

Manzanita Park Equestrian Trails

7644 NE Day Road West | Bainbridge Island, Wa, 98110

Manzanita Park is on Day Road, west 1/4 mile from Highway 305. It is heavily used for equestrian purposes. The Bainbridge Island Park District obtained Manzanita Park from Kitsap County in 1982.

Fort Ward Parade Grounds

Fort Ward Parade Grounds Park is approximately 1.5-acres of neighborhood park land for the Fort Ward neighborhood. This site is a portion of the previous marching and parade area for Fort Ward.
